Coach Q’s story

Shaquan Rhoades

Shaquan Rhoades is the founder, CEO, and Head of Basketball Operations at Brick by Brick Labz. Drawing on collegiate playing experience and a career in youth coaching, basketball instruction, and sports programming, he created The Lab to help athletes at every level grow through structured skill development, mentorship, and consistent work.

Mission

One brick at a time.

Develop athletes at every level—from K–12 through college and the professional ranks—through basketball instruction, competition, and mentorship that build skill, confidence, discipline, teamwork, and character on and off the court.

Coaching philosophy

Teach the why. Train the habit.

Shaquan combines fundamental basketball instruction with teamwork, confidence, discipline, and character development. His approach evaluates where each player is now, identifies meaningful areas for improvement, and builds targeted training that helps skills transfer to competition.

Athlete development

Build the complete player.

Development considers technique, reads, pace, confidence, and the habits required to keep improving beyond a single workout.

Experience and education

Coaching. Instruction. Leadership.

Shaquan has coached and instructed athletes through Brick by Brick Labz, Texas Legends, Breakthrough Basketball, i9 Sports, Mallard Creek Academy, and Primetime Sports.
